Club President presented with BEM

Nottingham Croquet Club is delighted that its President, Ian Vincent, was last week presented with the British Empire Medal which had been awarded to him for Services to Croquet in the New Year Honours List.

Dr Ian Vincent BEM is pictured here with Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Professor Veronica Pickering MBS HAC, who presented the award on behalf of HM King Charles.

Ian joined the club in 1977, after moving to the City to take up a post at the Cripps Computing Centre in the University.  He was elected as the club’s Hon. Secretary the following year and served for 38 years, until becoming its President in 2016.  He has also been active in the national governing body, Croquet England (formerly the Croquet Association), and internationally, particularly in the development of the Laws and Rules of the sport. Ian is a Vice-President of Croquet England.

Many congratulations to Ian.
