On the eve of the 2015 General Election, John Hess (political correspondent at BBC East Midlands) came to the club to hit some balls with assistant professor Caitlin Milazzo from Nottingham University as they discussed the main political parties’ election prospects. Different coloured balls were used to represent the parties, including purple and orange from a rare set of tertiary colours borrowed from Sophie McGlen’s other club, Oxford University. Despite the wind and rain, a few hoops were run, and croquet strokes modelled possible coalition pairings. The cameraman took pity on the pundit by lending her his jacket between takes!
