Nottingham Croquet Club becomes GreenSpace Trusted Provider

GreenSpace is part of a growing network of ‘green’ social prescribing programmes across the country. Social prescribing allows health care professionals to signpost patients towards non-medical activities. ‘Green’ social prescribing is specifically outdoor activities that are considered particularly beneficial. GreenSpace is the programme name for the people of Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City, helping them improve their physical and mental well-being by taking part in supervised outdoor activities.

The club is proud to have been invited to apply to become a GreenSpace Trusted Provider in recognition of the work we did in 2021 in helping community groups to meet up in a covid-safe environment and enjoy the benefits of our game and our club. We had to jump through some hoops (excuse the pun!) – all our policies and risk assessments have had to be submitted for scrutiny, but we have now heard that we have been awarded GreenSpace Trusted Provider status. You will now see this logo on our website and other communications.

The Hoops for Health sessions will resume in May. They are designed to be very relaxed. No-one is pressured to do anything and a few people are just happy sitting and watching. Most, however, want to join in at whatever level they find comfortable. It is very relaxed and very rewarding. We are looking forward to welcoming people we saw last year and hopefully some new faces.
