Eight Nottingham members received Coaching Certificates and Badges (or upgraded badges) at the end of a two-day course held at the Club on 25-26 April.   We are grateful to Roger Staples (Chairman of the CA Coaching Committee) and club member Ailsa Lines who delivered the teaching.  The weekend brings our number of Club Coaches and Graded Coaches to 20, which will be very useful later this year when we coach Dagfa School, the students of Nottingham University, U3A Groups, other secondary schools, and the two Learn to Play Courses starting on 19 May and 7 July.

The club hosted a weekend coaching course on 18th-19th April for the top women players in the UK, prior to the Women's World Championship being hosted here from 25th July to 1st August.  The course was organised by Ian Burridge, the CA's International Performance Director, who was assisted by several other coaches.  Beatrice and Sophie McGlen catered for the group, testing out the facilities in the new kitchen.  The weather was dry, but not as warm as it might have been …
