Jayne Stevens from Northampton won GC B Level

Jayne Stevens from Northampton won the B Level GC tournament held on Wednesday 15th July, which had a full entry managed and catered for by Patricia Duke-Cox.  She reported:

24 players competed in the B-class golf croquet competition with the winners of the four blocks progressing to the semi final and final to identify the order of the players for entry to the national final at Hunstanton. Many players were returning contenders for the Treasurer's Bowl trophy, but the club was pleased to welcome a few new competitors to this event. 68 games were contested during the day including consolation events. Block winners were Roger Stroud, John Cundell, Jayne Stevens and Cathy Turski. Opponents were selected by drawing lots. Roger beat John whilst Jayne beat Cathy. The final placements were 1st Jane Stevens, 2nd Roger Stroud, 3rd Cathy Turski, 4th John Cundell.

 

 

Nottingham player in Opens Final

Paddy Chapman and James Death played each other for a place in the final of the AC Open Championship, to play the winner of Robert Fulford and Jamie Burch. James beat Reg Bamford in a best of three quarter-final; Paddy got through against David Maugham.

In the semis, Paddy and Robert both won in two games.  In the final, Robert FUlford also won in two games to take the title for the record 11th time.

Ian Vincent qualified for the main knock-out for the first time since the qualification system started, but lost in the first round to Stephen Mulliner.
