Beatrice McGlen won the Peel Memorial Ladies Bowl, beating Patricia Duke-Cox in the final (and Sophie McGlen, her daughter, in the semi-final). John Bee, a visitor, was runner-up in the Mens, but it was won by Omied Hallam, who dedicated the win to the memory of his late father, Brian. However, visitors triumphed in the mixed doubles: John, with his partner Wendy, were the runners-up and it was won by Clare Benson and Nelson Morrow.
At the prize-giving, the Croquet Association's President was represented by the Tournament Director, Brian Shorney, who warmly thanked the club for the effort it had gone to in staging this historic tournament, and particularly the members who had catered, organised and helped clear up. He also congratulated its groundsman for the quality of the playing conditions.
