Croquet on National Radio

An article, recorded at Nottingham, went out on the prime time, flagship news programme, PM, on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday 13th July. You can hear it on iPlayer until 9th August be clicking on this link.  It is approximately 22 minutes into the broadcast.

James Death won AC Open Championship

James Death won the National AC Open Championship for the first time, beating Reg Bamford, who has won it eleven times, +18tp +18tp in the final (the two games were almost identical: Reg got the first break and went to 1-back; James hit the lift and went to 4-back, peeling Reg's other ball to hoop 3 and conceding a contact; Reg failed to get going and James hit-in to finish with a triple peel).

As far as I am aware, this is the first time a Nottingham member has won the title.  He also won the AC Open Doubles Championship, playing alternate strokes with Samir Patel, and holds the Mens Championship as well.

Another Nottingham success was that Miranda Chapman won the Doubles consolation event, partnering Eugene Chang.
