Congratulations to club member Ian Burridge, who played for the Glamorgan team which won the rather wet 100th AC Inter-Counties Championship this year, with Nottinghamshire unexpectedly finishing mid-table, despite what on paper was its strongest ever team. Members of the club also played for a number of other counties, including Cheshire, Essex, Lancashire, Shropshire, Surrey, Sussex, Warkwickshire and Yorkshire.
You can register your availability to play for a county by clicking on its name on this page of the CA website.
Patricia Duke-Cox reports that:
Visiting club, Woodhall Spa, were delighted to play their match at Nottingham where the courts had been prepared and cut by the groundsman that morning. The first round doubles match did go to three games, but other players waited for this closely contested match to finish before all lunching together. In the afternoon, four singles matches were played with only one of these matches going to three games.
