Nottingham City Council have today announced that its £3.2m bid, to the Parks for People lottery fund, to restore and develop Highfields Park has been successful. The largest part of the project is to de-silt the lake, but the club, which promised support for the bid, will benefit from restoration work on the pavilions and, in particular, relaying the bowling greens as four croquet lawns.
Lawn 6 Status
As of Sunday 28th December, the lawns were still covered in snow. It is predicted to remain frosty until New Year's Eve, so I think that's it for the year!
Cathy reports that Charlie says he will try to keep her updated on closures but as a general rule – light frost- wait till it lifts. Hard frost ( soil frozen solid) -wait a couple of days to give the ground time to fully defrost and dry/ settle.
