Nottingham Croquet Club feature on BBC East Midlands

On a very wet Wednesday 11th May, BBC East Midlands visited the club to film a piece mainly about our Hoops 4 Health programme, for their Sunday morning politics programme.  Fortunately the weather redeemed itself just about in time.

The piece, presented by Geeta Pendse, was screened as part of the Sunday morning East Midlands Politics programme on 22nd May 2022, and can be viewed for 4 weeks afterwards at this link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0017q67/politics-east-midlands-22052022 .  (Scroll forwards 23 minutes 30 seconds to get straight to the croquet piece).

We hope soon to have a copy of the piece to post on our club website.

Charity One ball championship

Yesterday we were pleased to host the Northern Area Final of the Croquet Association One-ball championship.

The event was won decisively by Nottingham member Mark Innes (photo below) with 8 games unbeaten; runner-up was Cathy Dance from York Croquet Club.

Across the whole of the CA, this year's event has so far raised over £8,000 for the mental health chairty MIND.
