Kevin Carter (0) Surbiton beat Michael Finnigan (3.5) Nottingham in the final of the Nottingham B Level on Sunday 4th June.
Kevin had earlier beaten the much fancied J-P Moberly (2) and Michael had seen off Clive Goode (0.5) in the semis. J-P beat Clive for 3rd place.
James Brind (9) Cambridge won the Swiss event, beating Mike Steer (4) Bowdon in the final.
Michael was looking defeat in the face after losing the first game -26 and was well behind in the second game when the galley saw some precision hit ins across the lawn and a number of long distance hoop runs for Michael to win the second game +2. The third game was more even with both players having chances to wrap it up, Kevin prevailing +5.
